Nail art/review: Negative spaces and black orbs (using Born Pretty Store rhinestones!)

Today, I’ve got a nail art tutorial for you that is also a review of a set of rhinestones from Born Pretty Store. And not just normal rhinestones, these are black rhinestones! I hadn’t really seen those very often, and I had never used them myself before. So I could barely wait to do a nail art with them πŸ™‚

Seeing as I really wanted the rhinestones to stand out, I started with a clear nail polish. This is Vanity Fairest by Essie, a clear nail polish that can even make my nails look good πŸ˜‰ I’ve applied two layers.

Then I used Essence’s Chic Reloaded to make the black/oil-like stripes. There’s actually no idea or inspiration behind that, it’s just random stripes. I do think the colour looks quite the same as that of the rhinestones, which is why I chose to use that nail polish.

Then on to the rhinestones! One thing I love about them (apart from their colour) is that this set contains multiple sizes. And they’re all neatly sorted! Because of that, they can easily be made into an interesting look. But it’s also just always nice to have a choice. For one nail art, a small rhinestone can be perfect, while for a different nail art it can look way better to use a bigger one.

For this look, I purposely used different sizes, just to show them to you. And also because it seems to fit well with the random pattern of stripes. In any case, I really like these rhinestones, and I’ll definitely use them again in the future πŸ™‚ All there’s left to do is to add a layer of topcoat, and the manicure is done!

If you’re also interested in these rhinestones (or other fun nail art items); you can find a coupon code below that’ll give you 10% off at an order at Born Pretty Store! Also, Born Pretty Store is already 4 years old! To celebrate that, they’re having a nail art contest. Are you good at doing nail art? Then you can look here for more information πŸ™‚
