Nail art: Matte topcoat design (easy!)

A little while ago, I finally bought some matte top coat! Well, sort of. It’s actually matte with a pearl shine to it, which I think is really cool. This week’s design was build around that top coat, because I couldn’t wait any longer to use it in a video 🙂

Tools/items used:

-Dotting tool
-Marbling tool
-Star-shaped rhinestones

Nail polishes used:

-Gelaze – Innocence
-Essence Hardening nail base
-Essence – Amazed By You
-Catrice Matt & More top coat
-OPI – Did It On ‘Em

  1. Apply base coat (if using gel polish underneath that, buff it first to take the shine off)
  2. Apply one or two coats of a dark purple nail polish, depending on how much it needs to be opaque
  3. Paint stripes with the matte top coat
  4. Using a dotting tool and lime green nail polish, add lines of dots at the edges of the matte stripes
  5. Add a green rhinestone star on each nail
